Chiropractic Students should Plagiarize: When starting a Chiropractic Practice
Have you’ve ever written anything? If you’ve made it to Chiropractic School you have at some point, and you know how professors will hammer you for not sighting your sources. Plagiarizing can cost you your diploma or career if you publish someone else’s research as your own.
The great thing when starting your new chiropractic office is that copying a success is not only accepted it is one of the smartest moves you can make! Don’t reinvent the wheel! Learn from the successes and failures of others, so you can avoid the pitfalls and errors others have experienced.
One disclaimer, when copying someone, do your research and make sure their model is the best, time tested and tried. If it’s technique, find the master with unsurpassed results. If its office protocol, find the very best with outstanding success, and be sure they are honest, moral and ethical.
On that topic, honest, moral and ethical, I was looking back through one of my recent posts and realized I totally stole a quote without even thinking about it. One of my mentors had told me at one point, “Your potential greatly exceeds your concepts of today”. That statement is so true, and has made a great impact on my thinking over the years. I didn’t even give him credit for it. Sorry Tom, and thank you at the same time for inspiring creativity and expanding my concepts and vision for chiropractic.
When I mentioned, find the very best and be sure they are honest, moral and ethical; Tom and his family always come to my mind within the chiropractic profession. If you want insight on how to be successful from day one in chiropractic practice or in any business for that matter, and expand your concepts then check out Tom’s blog, and his podcasts. He has truly impacted my professional and personal life and continues to expanded my concepts!
Question: Who are you following, and are they where you want to be?

Good points, Dr. Brubaker!
I’m reminded of what the well-know author and speaker, John Maxwell, always says about quotes.
The first time, he credits the original source. The second time he paraphrases it. The third time, he owns it!
Yes, it’s always good to go back to the original source but also realize that you have the creative ability to repackage and repurpose the information without plagiarizing.
That’ exactly right. We all have access to such vast amounts of information and material, sometimes we neglect to realize where we gather it from, and thus forget to appreciate the contributions and positive impact others have had on us. Always appreciate you and your great insight! Without your help and Next Generation Chiropractor.com this blog wouldn’t even exist!
